Q: What is HIPAA?
A: HIPAA stands for the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. This Act was passed in 1996. HIPAA is broad, covering many areas, such as privacy, security, and electronic transactions. When you hear people talk about HIPAA Privacy, they are speaking of the Privacy Rule which applies to anyone who may handle a patient's health information. The Privacy Rule has requirements that must be met by April 14, 2003.
Q: Is your training program HIPAA certified?
A: At this time, there is no organization responsible for certifying HIPAA training, so no HIPAA training product on the market is HIPAA certified. You can be confident that our many years of experience in bringing large government agencies into compliance have prepared us to furnish you with information, training and materials of the highest quality.
Q: What is "per seat" pricing?
A: This is the price to train one person. For example, if you have 5 people in your office and you wish for each of them to take the Basic Awareness Course ($12.50/seat), you would pay $62.50. Each trainee receives an individual certificate to verify the training, and this certificate may be used for audit purposes.
